Install New World Scheduler on Apple MAC

New World Scheduler (NWS) is software system designed for Jehovah’s Witnesses to help with scheduling and organizing your congregation.

NWS consists of three separate packages that all work together:

NWS Desktop can be installed on any Apple Mac using the methods below, whereas NWS Mobile can be installed directly on Apple iOS and macOS.

Install NWS Desktop on Apple macOS

The most common ways to install NWS Desktop on macOS are:

  1. Boot Camp, or
  2. VirtualBox, or
  3. Parallels Desktop (Apple M1/M2 chips supported), or
  4. UTM (Apple M1/M2 chips supported)
  5. QEMU (Apple M1/M2 chips supported)

Install NWS Desktop using Boot Camp

  • Note: Boot Camp is a free software application provided by Apple
  1. Visit https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows11 and download a Windows 11 ISO file
  2. Follow the instructions Install Windows 11 on your Mac with Boot Camp Assistant
  1. Boot up Windows 11 on your Mac
  2. Visit NWScheduler.com and download NWS Desktop
  3. Install NWS Desktop
  4. Get Started with New World Scheduler

Install NWS Desktop using VirtualBox

  • Note: VirtualBox is a free software application provided by virtualbox.org
  1. Visit https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows11 and download a Windows 11 ISO file
  2. Follow the instructions Install Windows 11 on mac using VirtualBox
  1. Boot up Windows 11 on your Mac
  2. Visit NWScheduler.com and download NWS Desktop
  3. Install NWS Desktop
  4. Get Started with New World Scheduler

Install NWS Desktop using VMware Fusion

  • Note: VMware Fusion is a software application provided by vmware.com

Install NWS Desktop using Parallels Desktop

  • Note: Parallels Desktop is a commercial software application provided by Parallels
  1. Visit https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows11 and download a Windows 11 ISO file
  2. Download Parallels Desktop
  3. Follow the instructions Getting Started with Parallels
    • Note: If you need further assistance installing Windows 11 with Parallels:
      • Please ask a local brother who is good with computers to help
  1. Boot up Windows 11 on your Mac
  2. Visit NWScheduler.com and download NWS Desktop
  3. Install NWS Desktop
  4. Get Started with New World Scheduler

Apple M1/M2/M3/M4 Chips

If you have an Apple computer with M1/M2/M3/M4 chip:

  1. Install Parallels Desktop for Mac with Apple M1/M2 chip from the Parallels website
  2. Install Windows 11 ARM version (Windows 10 ARM version should also work)
  3. Install NWS Desktop as normal

Install NWS Desktop using UTM

  • Note: UTM is a free software application provided by getutm.app

Other Ways to run NWS Desktop on Apple MAC

If all of the above options do not work or are not suitable, there are several other ways to use NWS Desktop on an Apple Mac:

  1. Use Crossover for Mac, WINE or Wine Bottler to run NWS Desktop.
    • Note: Some brothers have had success doing this, but we are unable to offer support or assistance. Perhaps a local brother in your congregation good with computers can assist.
  2. Use an online Windows 11 Virtual Machine, e.g. Microsoft Azure

If all of the above options do not work or are not suitable, you still have two other options:

  1. Use NWS Mobile instead
  2. Purchase a cheap Windows laptop
